Tequila Corrido pairing dinner at Hotel Valley Ho

The locally owned tequila is being paired with a special menu by the hotel’s Executive Chef Russel LaCasce on Thursday, October 27th. The four course dinner includes Shrimp & Abalone Ceviche, Duck & Pork Tostadas with pickled escabeche, Bone-In Short Rib “Colorado” with Spanish rice and beans, and Elote Cake with mascarpone citrus and tequila gelée. Seats are $109++. The dinner starts at 6 p.m. and seats can be reserved by calling 480-421-7997.

Third Tuesday wine pairing dinner at Romeo’s Euro Cafe

Next Tuesday, October 18th the downtown Gilbert restaurant hosts its monthly three course dinner. Ahi- Nicoise Salad, Beseme Mucho and Red Velvet Cake are paired with wines from California and Oregon. Seats are $39 and reservations can be made by calling 480-962-4224. The dinner starts at 6:30 p.m.

Liberty Station Tavern celebrates 10th anniversary

Originally named Market Street Kitchen before the Keeler family rebranded it to Liberty Station Tavern in 2016, the two celebrate its 10th anniversary Thursday, October 20th. The DC Ranch restaurants invites guests to night of food, drinks and entertainment starting at 6 p.m. Five food stations along with wine, beer & cocktails are $110.10++ with more information on their website and limited seating reservations can be made by calling 480-278-7044.

Grimaldi’s Pizzeria introduced several new dishes and cocktails featuring the new Fall season that is upon us. Corporate Chef Hector Godinez and his team have been working on the 5 new dishes and 2 new cocktails since early summer. Grimaldi’s rolls out new seasonal dishes every 3 months as the seasons change and seasonal ingredients become available.

Chef Hector Godinez takes inspiration from his years working in various restaurants in Phoenix and Ahwatukee including the last 10 years at Grimaldi’s and 6 as Corporate Chef.

New on the menu at all locations for a limited time are…..

Fallin’ Wedge Salad- Traditional ingredients but swap out the Iceberg lettuce for higher quality Romaine and toss the ingredients.

The Bridge Board- Grimaldi’s version of a charcuterie board that changes seasonally and named after the iconic Brooklyn Bridge.

Buffalo Chicken Pizza- Chef Godinez’s take on Buffalo wings but with no fryer he puts all the ingredients including the crunchy celery on a pizza with Sweet Baby Ray’s hot sauce.

Pumpkin Cheesecake- Can’t have a Fall menu without a pumpkin spices.

Coco’nana Cheesecake– Godinez’s play on a childhood favorite, chocolate covered banana. Banana cheesecake with Oreo cookie crust and chocolate chips.

Italian Old Fashioned– Whiskey, Tiramisu syrup and bitters over ice with a Luxardo cherry and orange peel.

Amalfi Martini- Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Limoncello and lemon juice shaken and garnished with a lemon wheel and rosemary.

Keeler Hospitality Group founder passes away

The Arizona restaurant community lost a good one this week when Paul Keeler sadly past away. He spent his career in the hospitality industry around the country running hotels & restaurants. He & his family owned Liberty Station Tavern in DC Ranch & Terravita, both in north Scottsdale and Keeler’s Neighborhood Steakhouse in Carefree. They also owned to restaurants around the country. My condolences go out his family.

Serrano’s “Pink Out” in memory of Stephanie Serrano is tomorrow

All four locations will remember co-owner Stephanie who passed away from breast cancer 2 years ago this month. A portion of proceeds from sales during the month of October special will be donated to local non-profit Check for a Lump. The October specials are Stephanie’s Stacked Enchiladas, Pink Out Margarita Sampler and Pumpkin Spice Churro Donut.

Jewel’s Cafe in Phoenix is hosting San Francisco chefs Frank Gama & Victor Aguilera for cannabis infused dinners. There are two seating’s at 5 & 8 p.m. with details and how to reserve your seats in this post from a couple of weeks ago.

While the owner s are putting the finishing touches on the new location, fans of the of the Mexican/ Chinese fusion can get their fix from their food truck at the new 3rd Ave & Bell Rd location. The menu will be limited and the truck will be open Monday through Friday 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday noon to 8:00 p.m.

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar Celebrates Wine and Art Two Exclusive Silver Oak Wine Dinners with Artist Thomas Arvid

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar is hosting two Silver Oak Wine Dinners with special guest, artist Thomas Arvid. The first dinner will take place on Wednesday February 22 at the Scottsdale Road and Lincoln location; the second dinner will be held on Thursday, February 23 at the North Scottsdale/DC Ranch location. Both dinners will begin at 6:30pm. Arvid will unveil three new paintings at the dinner, which features wines from Silver Oak Vineyards. His work will be available for purchase and guests may also bring their other Arvid pieces to be signed by the artist that evening. Brooke Michaels, the regional Silver Oak representative will also will be at the event to speak about the wines.

The meal will begin with Mini Ceviche Tostadas with Avocado, Citrus and Fennel paired with Twomey Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley, 2010. The second course features Two Lamb Chop Lollipops with Creamy Goat Cheese Polenta and Oven Roasted Tomatoes in a Red Wine Demi-Glace accompanied by Twomey Pinot Noir, Santa Barbara, 2008. The main course will be a delicious Prosciutto Wrapped Filet Mignon with Truffled Bordelaise Sauce and Roasted Red Pepper Mashed Potatoes. This is perfectly paired with Silver Oak Cabernet, Napa Valley, 2006 and Silver Oak Cabernet, Alexander Valley, 2007. The meal finishes on a sweet note with a decadent Chocolate Mousse Cake.
