Friday, September 22nd is the grand opening of the valley’s newest ice cream shop as Tom’s Incredible Ice Cream celebrates all day and night. The new concept is the only ice cream parlor in Maricopa County to serve Hershey’s brand of ice cream ( not affiliated with the candy maker) and will serve a selection of homemade ice cream cakes, ice cream cookie sandwiches, cinnamon rolls, Italian sodas, soda floats, waffles, ice cream sundae, vegan and gluten free options and the ice cream is certified kosher. Founder Tom Medrano was inspired to open his ice cream parlor by the parlors of the past like Farrell’s, a popular chain in the 1970’s and 80’s. “We’re excited to sweeten up Old Town Scottsdale with our premium treats and birthday cheer,” said Medrano.
The grand opening also celebrates National Ice Cream Cone Day and from 8:30 a.m. – 11 p.m. and guests will get a free scoop of ice cream and Scottsdale Mayor David Ortega will get the ceremonial “first scoop” instead of the traditional ribbon cutting. Guests are encouraged to donate Banner Children’s medical centers around Arizona via QR code. Medrano was a patient at Banner’s and plans to make regular donations to the hospital.
Guests can register in-person or online for Tom’s Incredible Ice Cream birthday Club for a free ice cream sundae, kazoo and birthday hat on their special day. Ready-made ice cream cakes and treats such as ice cream cookie sandwiches are available for pick up and third party deliveries. Tom’s Incredible Ice Cream is at 3712 N. Scottsdale Rd. Scottsdale 85251. To see their full menu visit their website.
