The Italiano

The newest restaurant from The Maggiore Group may be its best concept so far when The Italiano opens this summer at 90th St. and Shea Blvd. It will be the group’s sixth concept and the first since The Rosticceria opened late last year in North Phoenix. The award-winning restaurant group also owns popular concepts Hash Kitchen, The Sicilian Butcher and The Mexicano.

“This is going to be our best concept yet! We’re drawing inspiration from every corner of Italy to blend age-old traditions with innovative approaches,” says Joey Maggiore, chef and co-founder of The Maggiore Group and Chef Joey Concepts. “We can’t wait for you to experience our family’s heritage in a new and familiar way.”

Known for their over-the-top and unique concepts, The Italiano will be no different with an antipasto cart with over 30 items to build-your-own plate from and a Zabaione dessert cart. Guests can expect authentic old school red sauce dishes with Chef Joey’s personal touch in an atmosphere that will transport you to Italy, no passport needed. The over 7,500 square foot restaurant is complemented with limestone and olive trees throughout and a sky painted ceiling with changing colors all designed by Christina Maggiore. The private dining room pays tribute to Joey’s father, restaurateur Tomaso, that is adorned with an immersive art installation.

In the coming weeks The Italiano will be hiring dozens of employees for both the back and front of the house. Details will be announced soon. The Italiano will be open for lunch, happy hour and dinner at 9301 E. Shea Blvd. visit their website and @TheItalianoTrattoria on social media for updates and more information.
