Angry Crab Shack to donate money from root beer floats

One of my favorite summer treats is a root beer float and there’s no better way to cool off during a Phoenix summer than with a scoop of vanilla ice cream floating in a glass of cold root beer. With National Root Beer Float Day on Tuesday August 6th, Angry Crab Shack will donate $1 from each float sold to Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

The locally owned restaurant with 8 locations has donated over $100,000 to PCH since 2017 and expects to exceed their goal for 2019.

Visit any of these Angry Crab Shack locations for this summertime favorite and make your purchase count. For more information visit their website.

Root Beer has a long history dating back to the 1870s when Charles Hires concocted it in his Philadelphia pharmacy. Who added vanilla ice cream to it and created the first Root Beer float is still a mystery. Considered by many as an All American comfort food, the Root Beer float is summertime favorite and Saturday August 6th is National Root Beer Float Day and TEXAZ Grill in Phoenix is celebrating with $5 from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Louisiana craft brewer’s Abita Root Beer will be combined with creamy Vanilla ice cream to create a sweet treat and will compliment anything on TEXAZ’s comfort food driven menu such as their famous Chicken Fried Steak.

TEXAZ Grill is at 6003 N. 16th St. Phoenix, AZ 85016 602.248.STAR (7827) www.texazgrill.com
