National Grilled Cheese Day at Walk-On Sports Bistreaux

Who doesn’t love a good grilled cheese sandwich, if you do celebrate the comfort food favorite next Friday, April 12th with a four cheese sandwich at the Mesa restaurant. Their Grown-Up Grilled Cheese features American, Swiss, Smoked Gouda and Parmesan cheeses plus bacon and marinara on toasted homestyle bread. This rich and creamy delight is served with fries for $15.29.

Crepe Club Mesa reschedules grand opening a second time

Opening a new location isn’t as easy as one would expect and the owners of The Crepe Club are finding that out. For a second time they’ve had to put on hold the grand opening of their newest location scheduled for next Friday and Saturday, April 12th a& 13th. No date has been given at this time but stay tuned for when they do.

In January the James Beard Foundation released the list of the semifinalists for the 2024 James Beard Awards and Arizona was well represented with 12 chefs and restaurants. The JBF whittled down the list of semifinalists this week for the nominees and 2 Arizona names were on the list to win the prestigious award. Owner & Chef Rene Andrade of Bacanora is nominated for Best Chef- Southwest and Crystal Kass, Pastry Chef at Valentine is nominated for Outstanding Pastry Chef or Baker. Winners for the 33rd James Beard annual Restaurant and Chef Awards will be announced on June 10th in Chicago.

Firehouse Subs brings back the BBQ Cuban Sub

Sub sandwich fans have until June 30th to get one the sub shops most popular limited edition sandwiches. Originally released in 2021 it’s made with slow-smoked pulled pork, honey ham, melted Swiss cheese, spicy pickle chips, chipotle slaw, golden mustard BBQ sauce, and mayo, served on a toasted sub roll.

Pillsbury Wine Company brings home the gold

The award-winning Arizona winery continues to win accolades at local and national wine competitions. Add to the collection are Gold & Best of Class for the 2021 Grenache Reserve at the Arizona Governor’s Cup and Gold for the 2022 Inappropriate and 2021 Roan Red from the San Francisco Chronicle. Cinq cinq!!
