Throughout the month of April Picazzo’s Healthy Italian Kitchen and BloomKidz Wellness & Recreation are partnering to raise money and awareness during Autism Awareness Month. $1 of each dessert sold at all 6 Phoenix area and Sedona locations. BloomKidz is a nonprofit that helps children with Rett Syndrome with occupational, speech, behavioral, physical therapy and more to help stave off the disease. It’s personal to Picazzo’s Managing Partner Chris Disney and his wife Ang as their 3 year old daughter Collyn was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome and gets the needed help from BloomKidz.

“The staff at BloomKidz treat our daughter as if she were their own,” says Ang. “Therapy is the best thing we can do for Colly right now and the help she is receiving there is helping her hold on to her physical capabilities like walking and using her hands, while we wait to get her into a pediatric clinical trial for gene therapy that could dramatically improve the outcome of her life.”

The nonprofit clinic was founded in 2022 by Katie and Daniel Feavel, parents of five kids, three with Autism and two with other medical complexities. Since then the clinic has grown to help 30 clients and has a staff of 60. “This partnership with Picazzo’s feels like a full circle moment,” says Katie. “I’ve been a fan of the restaurant for years because I have Celiac and love being able to go there and eat just about anything! We look forward to supporting this April fundraiser, and plan to put the Picazzo’s donation towards improvements in our multi-sensory spaces.
