Now that the 2016 holiday season is in full swing you’ll have plenty of opportunities to celebrate all month-long around town. One of those opportunities will be on Sunday Dec. 11th at 5th and Wine in downtown Scottsdale as they host a “Sugar Plum Fairy Tea”. The tea is part of the month-long celebration “Scottsdazzle” which kicked off last Friday with a tree lighting ceremony.
Celebrate the festive atmosphere by dressing as a princess or fairy (not required), guests will enjoy tea sandwiches, bruschetta, Caesar salad and truffles and cookies for dessert. Tea and hot chocolate will be served and for those 21+ Mimosas will be available.
The tea will take place from 2pm-4pm and cost is $40 ++ for an adult & child. Seating is limited and reservations can be made by calling 480-699-8001.

If you didn’t get enough of the turkey and its trimmings this week now is the time to head to Sandbar Mexican Grill which is offering a traditional holiday menu with a Mexican twist and festive holiday cocktails through January 1st.
New menu items include turkey tacos ($13) with turkey tinga, cranberry chutney and Mexican cornbread stuffing with Chorizo, apples and raisins wrapped in a warm corn tortilla. Homemade Holiday Tamales ($12) are available to go by the dozen or to eat at Sandbar. Green chile chicken or red chile pork will have you tasting the family tradition. Arizona Animal Welfare League:
The Arizona Animal Welfare League is hosting their “Fall in Love With Animals Camp” on November 25th. The camp is available for kids ages 8-12 and is $60 per child. AAWL is hosting this special one-day camp to help show kids how to give back to animals and the community. Kids will learn how to care for animals and the environment, backyard wildlife and how to enrich the lives of animals every day through crafts, games and animal interactions. One of the most food friendly wines of the autumn season is the Gamay grape from Beaujolais. The medium bodied, rustic and elegant wines of Chateau des Jacques, one of the prestigious estates in Beaujolais, will be paired alongside a 5- course French inspired meal prepared by J & G Steakhouse executive chef Jacques Qualin on Tuesday, Dec. 6th. at 6:00pm.
Several vintages will be poured so that guests can taste and discover the flavor profiles of each wine. Kobrand Imports French wine specialist Matthew Semancik will be in attendance to discuss how Chateau des Jacques has raised the bar in Beaujolais with its wine making methods used in Burgundy and applying them to the once traditional Beaujolais methods.
